Ayeh Zarrinkhameh werkt sinds 2015 als adviseur bij de Raad voor het Openbaar Bestuur. Daarvoor was zij werkzaam als adviseur bij de Raad voor de Volksgezondheid & Zorg en vervolgens bij de Raad voor de Volksgezondheid & Samenleving. De afgelopen jaren is haar belangstelling vooral uitgegaan naar de ervaringen binnen gemeenten in de aanpak van de drie decentralisaties in 2015 (Wmo, Jeugdwet en Participatiewet). Op het moment onderzoekt Ayeh bij de ROB het democratisch proces van plan- en besluitvorming in gemeenteraden met betrekking tot de gedecentraliseerde taken in het sociaal domein.
