Jacques Wallage en Kees Breed

Jacques Wallage is sinds medio 2009 voorzitter van de Raad voor het openbaar bestuur. Wallage was ruim 10 jaar burgemeester van Groningen. Daarvoor was hij onder andere fractievoorzitter voor de PvdA in de Tweede Kamer, staatssecretaris van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid, staatssecretaris van Onderwijs en Wetenschappen, lid van de Tweede Kamer, wethouder en fractievoorzitter in Groningen en wetenschappelijk medewerker aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Aan deze universiteit behaalde hij ook zijn doctoraal sociologie. Kees Breed is secretaris van de Raad voor het openbaar bestuur en tegelijk van de Raad voor financiële verhoudingen. Hij heeft politicologie gestudeerd en is in 2007 gepromoveerd op een onderzoek naar het strategisch denken van topambtenaren bij het Rijk. Eerder werkte hij o.m. als strategisch consultant bij Cap Gemini Consulting, het ministerie van BZK en bij de Permanente Vertegenwoordiging bij de Europese Unie.
