Michael Mekel

Michael Mekel (1968) studeerde rechten in combinatie met bestuurskunde en politicologie. Hij houdt zich bij de Raad voor het Openbaar Bestuur (ROB) met verschillende onderwerpen bezig. Mekel is voorzitter van de Rekenkamer Oost-Nederland en plaatsvervangend bestuurder bij de Randstedelijke Rekenkamer. Daarnaast is hij rapporteur bij de Visitatiecommissie Defensie en Veiligheid. In het verleden was Mekel werkzaam voor de Nationale ombudsman en was hij voorzitter van de rekenkamercommissies van Haarlemmermeer en Westland. Ook was hij Moduleleider Democratie & Rechtsstaat bij het Ambtelijke Professionaliteit Programma van de Algemene Bestuursdienst.
