Barbara Vis, hoogleraar politics & governance aan Universiteit Utrecht, legt uit hoe politici en beleidsmakers, maar ook burgers, besluiten nemen te midden van onzekerheid.
De Vereniging voor Bestuurskunde (VB) brengt een serie video’s uit, genaamd Special State of Science. In deze video’s gaan hoogleraren bestuurskunde in op de lessen die we kunnen trekken uit de Covid-19-crisis.
Op grond van het klassieke werk van Tversky & Kahneman, de zgn. prospecttheorie (grondslag van de gedragseconomie), ander onderzoek en haar eigen werk legt Vis uit wat besluitvorming onder condities van onzekerheid is, wat riskante besluiten en risico’s zijn, welke rol informatie speelt, en wanneer besluitvormers risico-zoekend dan wel risicomijdend handelen. Daarmee ontstaat een beter begrip van de besluitvorming aangaande Covid-19.
