In Groningen weet men als geen ander dat data essentieel zijn om maatschappelijke vraagstukken te op te lossen. ‘Toen eind 2012 de aardbevingen begonnen, waren onmiddellijk allerlei gedetailleerde gegevens nodig om zo snel en zo goed mogelijk te reageren,’ zegt Mirjam Wulfse, gedeputeerde bij de provincie Groningen en lid van de IPO-kopgroep Digitalisering. ‘Welke grondsoorten zijn er, wat voor typen huizen zijn daarop gebouwd? Die data zijn keihard nodig voor de opgave van herstellen en versterken waarmee we geconfronteerd zijn.’
